The Project Manager will lead a range of project types, in collaboration with their diverse design team. Trahan Architects is particularly interested in senior design and technical architects and managers who have experience with large-scale, programmatically complex projects, especially those related to cultural, educational, assembly, and mixed-use facilities in the range of $5 to $20 million or more.

In Brief

Project Managers work directly with the firm’s principals and clients. They are responsible for organizing and coordinating the efforts of all members of a project team, reconciling the goals and priorities of the firm with those of the client, while fostering opportunities for design and technical excellence.

Success factors include:

  • Commitment, enthusiasm, and expertise
  • Solid architectural experience, including at least 5 years in a project leadership role
  • Focus on quality in all aspects of the work, from initial presentation through design, documentation, and delivery of architectural services
  • Ability to lead a team to design with imagination and manage to constructibility
  • Ability to represent the firm with clients and the public, building and enriching relationships
  • Interest and desire to work with other team members to create opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth
  • Personal characteristics that include being intellectually curious, congenial, collaborative, and articulate, with good judgment about people and situations


  • Professional architectural degree
  • Strong design talent with proven leadership experience, preferably at high-profile design-led firms
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Architectural license
  • Strong skills in Revit required
  • Experience with the Construction Documents phase
  • Expertise with Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Autocad, Parametric Modeling (Grasshopper), and Maya is desired
  • Ability to lead project teams in the execution of formally and materially innovative architecture
  • Commitment to ensure quality enhancement and professional development, working in collaboration with firm principals
  • Proven ability with interpersonal communications, including ability to work with and elevate younger staff members
  • Strong positive references
